We are not sure about the eggs in the Key Stage 1 box. Some weeks back there were 6 eggs, but they were left for so long that they got very cold, and the caretakers removed them. Then 6 more eggs were laid,and again they were left for long periods, but the parents are now incubating them quite well, but the damage may have been done ....

Whiteley Cross Country Team Win Again!

On Friday 9^th March, the Cross Country Team travelled to Waterlooville to take part in the S.E.H.S.S.A Cross Country Championship Race.

 This is a one off race separate to the league races that are run on Portsdown Hill. The course is a nice flat one, and with the largest turn out of runners, almost 250, it is always exciting to watch. Our team have worked extremely hard in training, with some runners from Year 5 taking part in a lunchtime training run as extra training. This extra training has certainly paid off and the boys team ran together in their pack, the top 6 places are added together to produce an overall total. They finished in 9^th,10^th,13^th,15^th,18^th and 19^th. It was this effort and pacing themselves and running together which meant that we won the championship race. 

 The girls team has also been working extremely hard and throughout the season they maintained a second position in the league. The competition has been strong and yet, the girls have just kept going, which is fantastic.

 We know have two trophies to add to our trophy cabinet and, there will be medals presented to each runner that competed, after the Easter break.

 It has been a great season and seeing the runners get stronger each week has been very rewarding. Thank you to all of the runners and parents who have supported us at the races, we hope to see you back again in September!

Cross Country Team

Monday 12th March

Mrs Pennington appeared on BBC Radio Solent's cool school spot this morning. Her 'something about the school that we might not know' was about our school logo. It was then the chance for Ellie and Dean from Year 4 to be the 'Weather Watchers'.
