Term Time Absence
The school’s attendance policy is based on the Hampshire model. From September 2015 the new Hampshire Code of Conduct has been launched which includes the use of penalty notices (fines) for unauthorised absences. As a school, we must follow the code of conduct and would therefore urge parents/carers to familiarise themselves with the policy.
If you are planning on making a request for term time absence, you may also find it useful to re-read the letter sent out in July 2015 (see above) which helps to clarify the definition of ‘exceptional circumstances’. Any term time leave requests (other than in emergency situations) must be made in advance on the form which can be downloaded above, or requested from the office. If you are unsure regarding the policy and wish to discuss your situation prior to making a request, please make an appointment to see the Headteacher via the school office.
